Finding Some Extra Money to Pay Credit Card Debt

There are probably two very smart things you can do with your money these days - put it into a savings account where it will earn some interest and use it to pay credit card debt.  Unfortunately both options are usually easier said than done!  Many people find that when they have a few extra dollars to their name they can't help but to go out and spend it.  This means that they often have difficulty find that extra money needed to pay credit card debt and still have funds for all the other things they want to spend their money on.  But there are ways you can find that extra money in the income you already have and ways you can earn a bit more as well.  Let's take a look at how you can find some extra money to be used to pay credit card debt.

Have you thought about a second job?  While working twelve or more hours per day isn't appealing to anyone, usually you can find a part-time job working one night per week or one Saturday afternoon such as at a local retailer.  As tired as you might get working that second job, remember that your money will be used to pay credit card debt and get you out from under that overwhelming situation sooner.  There may even be things you can do at home to earn some extra money; think of what you could sell on eBay for a profit or on your own website.  Some people find secondhand clothing at a nearby thrift shop for a few dollars and resell those for a nice profit on eBay or you could even work with a drop shipper, which is a company and that manufactures and ships items from their own location.  Even a few dollars here and there from such a company can be used to pay credit card debt.

Think too of anything you have that you could sell for a lump sum and use to pay credit card debt.  What about a motorcycle, snowmobile, sporting goods, a pool table, an RV, or a vacation cottage?  You may hate to part with these things but not only would you save money from their upkeep you could also use the cash to pay credit card debt for a settlement amount you work out with your bank or lender.  Even selling a few pieces of extra furniture such as a dresser or couch could give you a few hundred dollars you could use for this.  Again, it may be difficult to part with these items but if it means being able to pay credit card debt sooner than you imagined or being able to use it to negotiate with your bank or lender a better interest rate, it's well worth it.

Being able to pay credit card debt is well worth every effort and sacrifice.  It means paying less to your lender and having more money in your own pocket.
