Smile and the world smiles with you! What do you do if you don’t have the perfect smile? Be disappointed? No, gone are the days of lamenting and cursing fate. Now you can fight your way back into perfection. Beautiful smile does a lot more than just leaving an impression on the other person. It helps you have a confident aura around you and a charming personality.
If the question is a flawed smile, then cosmetic dentistry is your answer to perfection. It is the set of dental procedures which eventually leads into improvement of your smile. General awareness is on a toll these days. People becoming more aware towards dental health have led to increased number of dental clinics that offer advanced dental care course of actions.
Cosmetic dentistry differs a lot from the traditional dentistry. Traditional dentistry had confined its gates to oral hygiene and oral diseases. Cosmetic dentistry is a step ahead to help improve the appearance of mouth, smile and teeth of people in totality. It gives a complete makeover to the facial appearance of any person. For instance in traditional dentistry any case of filling, there was explicit usage of gold and amalgam which leaves a hideous mark on your teeth. But in the new cosmetic dentistry there is use of porcelain and other close material which would make the filling look like the colour of teeth. This is just a fine small example to begin with. Cosmetic dentistry has gone way beyond the traditional dentistry.
When we talk about cosmetic dentistry there are certain fields which should be known to you like teeth whitening, bonding, dental fillings and certain other areas like dental implants.
Bonding is needed when you have repaired chip or broken tooth of some sort. What is done is- enamel is applied on the surface of the tooth and polished to fix the repair. Teeth whitening are synonymous to cosmetic dentistry for most people, which is clearly a myth. Cosmetic dentistry is beyond whitening, although it is one of the most commonly practiced areas of cosmetic dentistry. A stained tooth is the most common phenomenon found around. Poor oral hygiene might be one of the most prevalent reasons for that. Bleaching is the way out for staining in most of the cases.
Dental filling in a concealing manner is the art of cosmetic dentistry. Use of porcelain and other resin like material would lead to filling of cavities without leaving a hideous mark. Another procedure in cosmetic dentistry is dental implants which are done when there is tooth loss. During implants there are artificial tooth replacements to make up for the loss. Dental veneering is another alternative used in cosmetic dentistry when there are gaps in between of your teeth or there is some sort of goof up in the teeth whitening procedure.
This is just a beginning. There are loads more on cosmetic dentistry which you can learn about. Facial rejuvenations, entire smile makeovers could be few to name with. Cosmetic Dentistry is the new way to go!
