Determine Dental Plaques Earlier

At this day and age there is a lot of research going on to identify new ways to determine an early determination of a disease process. A recent research conducted by a group of scientists found a way to determine the build up of plaque in mouth.

The most remarkable thing about this technology is that it finds the plaques that are not visible to the naked eye. This technology comprises of a product that at its tip has a blue light. This light is then shone in the mouth where the examiner wears glasses that are yellow in color and has a red filter.

This allows the individuals to see the plaque in the mouth that glow red. If the glasses are removed then these plaques cannot be seen through the naked eye. Currently the dentists are using the disclosing agents, which are available in the tablet form.

These tablets help to uncover the plaque as well as the tooth decay present in the mouth. The bad side of this tablet that most individuals report is that it tastes really bad as well as it stains the teeth.

An amazing statistic that needs to be shared here is the fact that because of tooth decay, there are about 2.5 teeth that are either filled or removed before or at the age of 15. A stunning £45 million is spent every year on teeth problems.

This new product will allow a lot of dentists to identify plaques in the mouth at a very early stage as well as allow them to equip individuals to better brush their teeth so as to prevent any plaque build up.
