Invisalign Is The Invisible Way To Straighten Teeth Without Braces

Posted: Apr 30, 2010 |Comments: 0 |

Getting braces at any age can be a daunting process but as an adult many things can run through your head. How you'll look with braces, months or years of cleanings and adjustments and even what people will think. However with new remedies available there are new alternatives to the traditional metal braces.  One alternative that has revolutionised the braces treatment is called Invisalign.

Invisalign allows you to go through the teeth-straightening processes with virtually no one noticing. The treatment provides the same benefits as regular braces, but without the hassle and embarrassment of traditional braces.

Invisalign works using a 3-D computer imaging system, which creates a complete and thorough treatment plan for the patient. It shows images of the initial position of the teeth and ends with how your mouth will look at the end of the procedure. A series of custom-made aligners are created, and each aligner moves the teeth over a certain period of time. After a designated amount of time set by your dentist, the aligner is replaced with the next in the series until the final positioning is achieved. The aligners are nearly invisible and are made of strong, clear medical grade plastic. The aligners are custom made to fit each individual person so that they are comfortable.

Invisalign patients have the added benefit of being able to remove the aligners, making eating and drinking easier, (no more food caught in your braces.) Patients can brush and floss their teeth normally, so oral hygiene is not as much of a problem as it once used to be with traditional braces. Invisalign patients can even view their treatment plan and have the opportunity to see how their teeth will look before treatment begins. Invisalign can be used to straighten crowded teeth, gaps in teeth and cross bites. So no matter what your issue, Invisalign can straighten your teeth to however you desire.
