For those of us that love coffee, tea, cola and alcohol, teeth staining is a real concern. Not only are stains unattractive, they can be expensive to have whitening treatments remove them. Unless, that is, you know about the $3 stain removal secret.
Teeth whitening peroxide is an excellent chemical to help whiten your teeth. The price tag isn't bad either. Peroxide can probably be found in every household anyways, but just in case you don't have any, don't worry, it'll only cost about three bucks for a new bottle. And that should last you quite a while. By simply gargling a mouthful of it every night for a couple weeks you may start to see your teeth getting whiter.
It might only be a small amount right away, but peroxide is very good at removing stains and discoloration. It's recommended that you don't use peroxide for longer than a month or two at the most without taking a break. Prolonged use can actually harm your teeth, so be sure to give them some rest.
To increase the contact the peroxide will have with your teeth you may want to make a paste using peroxide and baking soda. Brushing with this paste will allow you to gently scrub the peroxide on your teeth, helping to polish them. Be sure not to swallow any of the paste.
Even though peroxide is a safe, effective method of teeth whitening, you may experience some discomfort when using it. If you have pain greater than sensitivity in the teeth and gums or you notice you're gums becoming irritated and swollen, discontinue use immediately. If it persists see a dentist. If it subsides and you'd like to try applying it again, use it only every other day until you see how your mouth will react.
Of course, the more stained your teeth are the longer it will take to see satisfactory results and like all medical treatments, some people are more receptive than others. However, despite all the disclaimers, there is a reason why teeth whitening peroxide is called the ultimate $3 stain remover. The majority of the time it works.
