Update at Ford Dental Group

Happy New Year! We have some exciting news to share as we begin 2011.

Within the next couple of months, we plan on remodeling the original side of our dental office. The most noticeable change will be the reception room. We plan on expanding the size, so it can accommodate a refreshment bar and a flat screen television for your enjoyment. We will also be adding a consultation room so we can discuss your dental treatment in a more private setting. Another notable change will be the addition of a 2nd ADA compliant restroom. For your continual safety, we are adding a 2nd sterilization area as well a new dental lab. The purpose behind the remodel is to improve your overall comfort, safety and experience at our office.

During the remodel, we will still be seeing patients as usual on the newly added side of the office. The new side has 4 treatment rooms and 1 surgical suite. The surgical suite is used primarily by Dr. David Kao.

Dr. Kao is a periodontist, who has been with our office for the past year and half. Dr. Kao is a gum specialist, who places dental implants and recently introduced LANAP to our practice. LANAP is a laser specifically designed to treat periodontal disease and regenerate bone and gum tissue. The laser works by killing specific gum disease-causing bacteria and is used instead of traditional procedures like osseous or pocket-reduction surgery. LANAP is the least invasive way to perform periodontal therapy. If you or someone you know has been putting off periodontal treatment, please set up an appointment with Dr. Kao, so he can explain the benefits of this new treatment.

Lastly, we receive calls every day regarding insurance and policies we accept at our office. Please feel free to call us regarding any of those questions. We are happy to help. As a general policy, all of the doctors accept all PPO insurances and we will assist you in obtaining all possible benefits. In addition, Dr. Jonathan Ford is a preferred provider for the following insurance companies:

  • Aetna
  • Anthem/Blue Cross
  • Assurant
  • Cigna
  • Connection Dental (includes Guardian, Sun Life)
  • Delta PPO
  • Delta Premier
  • Dental Wellness Partners

We look forward to seeing you in the New Year and helping you and your family improve your oral health. Additionally, if you know of someone who is looking for a new dentist, please give them our information. The biggest complement that we can receive is the referral of your friends and family to our practice.

We will continue to do quarterly newsletters in the future; however, they will be only in e-mail format, so if you would like to receive them, please send us your email address. at  You can also find all of our previous newsletters on our website, under the News Archive tab.
