Whitening For Teeth – Are The Best Tooth Whitening Products Fact Or Fantasy?

There are a mouthful of people pitching whitening for teeth products and programs all over the place. It seems you can open a web page, magazine or drive down the street without having to be inundated with pitch after pitch. Let's take a look at what the best tooth whitening products methods are that purport to deliver whitening for teeth, and just how they work.

It is estimated that more than 10 million Americans will spend upwards of $1.7 billion dollars in a down economy on whitening for teeth. In the not so distant past, the only way to get whiter teeth was to head for a dentist who specialized in dental bleaching. Now, you can accomplish the same tasks at home.

Still some people still feel more comfortable going to the dentist (believe it or not!) and if you do you should know that you should be ready to pay a pretty penny! You can’t normally remove all stains in one visit, so plan to spend some time pursuing your newly whitened teeth. The process is effective for almost everyone and can be used on most of your teeth.

Another way to get whitening for teeth is to use one of the numerous strip-based products. These strips work fine but are less effective than a tray. The strip only extends so far into your mouth. The front teeth get bleached, but teeth further back don’t. If you have large teeth, then even fewer teeth are within the strip’s reach. When you open your mouth widely, the unbleached teeth will be even more noticeable than before.

There is also the laser whitening for teeth option, but you should know you need pretty deep pockets and lots of free time on your hands if you choose this route for whiter teeth.

In my mind the cream of the best tooth whitening products available is to use the gel based products available to get the most brilliant, fastest and most long-lasting results around. They take seconds to apply, and you can see results extremely quickly. And, you don't have to shell out the big bucks (in the hundreds and thousands of dollars!) that you normally have to for laser and dentist -based treatments. These gel-based products can be purchased for home use. Many offer a free trial, so go give it a try and see if you aren't more fond of your smile very soon!
