Apumayo Expediciones, a local Peruvian company based in the City of Cusco, established in 1995. Specialized in adventure travel and non conventional tourism, combining it with cultural, educational and natural history. Apumayo Expediciones describes itself as a commercial venture with a strong environmental and social agenda, development and supporting in the way many projects like river clean up`s, offering activities and tours for people with disabilities and support Andean community projects, which maximise the positive effect of tourism activities locally. The Community of Cachiccata near Ollantaytambo and Machu Picchu, host many of our adventure trips like rafting, hiking, mountain bike, horse back rides and other participative activities related with the Inca culture and the day life of the Andean people like agro-tourism, interpretation, volunteer and bring the option to share authentic experiences with the local inhabitants.

Itinerary

Day 01: Cusco - City Tour

Transfer form the airport to the hotel. Morning to acclimatize. After lunch in a restaurant of your choice we will meet for a city tour. This tour includes a visit to the Cathedral which is over 450 years old and the magnificent ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Kenko and Tambomachay.

At night we will have the opportunity to dinner together in one of Cusco's finest restaurants.

Day 02: Sacred Valley

Following a delicious breakfast at your hotel you will be met by your guide who will take you on a tour of The Sacred Valley of the Incas. This tour includes the fantastic Inca complex of Pisac a look round the local market a buffet lunch and tour of the village and fortress of Ollantaytambo returning to Cusco in the evening. The night is free for you to eat in a restaurant of your choice; although we always have plenty of suggestions for you should you require them. (B, L)

Day 03: Machu Picchu

For most of you this is the main reason that you are here. To fulfill that childhood dream of visiting the citadel of Machu Picchu. We will take the Vistadomme class train which allows spectacular views on the road to Machu Picchu. A private tour of Machu Picchu where we will receive explanations on the history of Machu Picchu. Return train to Cusco and free evening. (B,L)

Day 04: Free Day Cusco

Free Day to allow you to do some shopping and explore some of the other places of interest in Cusco. At night we will have a farewell dinner with a typical dancing show.(B,D)

Day 05: Transfer Out

Breakfast and transfer to Cusco airport for your flight to Lima. End of our services. (B).

In the present we are open new alternatives for hiking and trekking supporting by Llamas, following lost Inca trails near Machu Picchu and running a new and spectacular section of the Apurimac river call "the black canyon" which is the source of the Amazon river.
