Whistler Alpine Meadows Location
Whistler Alpine Meadows lays approximately 4 kms or a five minute drive away from the central Village area. For those travelling without a vehicle, bus service runs regularly throughout the year from early morning to late at night. Transfer fares are inexpensive at roughly $2/adult (as of September, 2009).
If you’re looking to squeeze in a little exercise, why not walk, run, rollerblade or bike along the Valley Trail? This paved, two-lane path runs through all the main areas of Whistler from Emerald Estates (north of Alpine Meadows) to Spring Creek (south of Whistler Creekside).
Activities, Amenities and Services
Alpine Meadows is known as the laid-back, residential neighbourhood in Whistler. It’s a great place to live like the locals and surround yourself in the natural splendour of the mountain.
Although the area does not offer the same dining, nightlife and shopping outlets as the Village, it does include one of Whistler’s biggest and most spectacular fitness complexes at the Meadow Park Sports Centre. A common exercise facility for both locals and visitors, the sports centre features an NHL-sized ice rink, a 4,500 square-foot fitness centre, fitness studio, 2 squash courts, a 25-metre swimming pool, leisure pool, hot tub, stream room and sauna.
