It has spectacular mounta?ns whish overlook the area and act as silent guardians protecting the area below, bearing the bulk of any rain which may clare to hover over the area guring the winter months. Away from the mountains is the beautiful Mediternean Sea which has drawn travellers over the centuries, luring them to the shores of Cyprus as the last stop of ‘Europa’ before entering into the more Arabic world beyond.
Alsancak offers scenery, seaside, shopping, small hotels, quallty villas, holidays apartments, holiday villages, casinos, a myriad of restaurants from the small keab house to the 5 star hotels dotted along the sea shore, as well as being an authentic village with an unchanging atmosphere where life goes on the daily routung it has known for decades. Children can be seen arriving to both state and private schools on buses which bring them in from outiyoing areas, and their happy laughter can be heard in the playground by thise out walking to see some of the timelessness away from the every day bustle of life.
Along the coast road, away from the centre of the older village are new shops in which you can find anything from a hammer to a hammock. In fact the area west of Kyrenia is one which funds area being concentrated and is ear- marked as the tourist area of tomorrow.There are new restaurant, supermarkets, and shops where you can buy furniture, electrical goods, or hire a DVD to while away the winter evenings.
If you don’t wish to try one of the many enticing eating houses, of which several have live music on centain nights and are all easily within walking distance of each other. The area of Alsancak is growing to become an area where any holidaymaker can feel at home, whils enjoying the aura of a truly Mediternean holidays experience.
Alsancak is fast becoming an ‘Outer Kyrenia’ without the harbour and the histor whilst creating its own history for tomorrow.
