Arts and Culture in the United States of America
(A Disclaimer)
by Bidz Dela Cruz

United States of America, a melting pot of various culture and identities.
It is difficult to have a single picture of the arts and culture of this nation for its population alone is composed of different ethnic races, some of which have migrated from other countries around the globe. All have different cultural and artistic background and have their own share of influences once they set foot on the Land of Milk and Honey. Honestly, since this a big nation, it is much more entirely difficult to come up with a concise representation of every State in it. There have been numerous attempts to have a one-and-all encompassing write-ups and features on this but all have come short in describing vividly its arts and culture one way or another.
Period would also pose a problem to this. Arts and culture of the USA is bounded by the different periodical setting of its history. This complicates the matter more.
If I would dare come up with a subject on this, i must bring with me a number of know-how artilleries to justify my being a canon. I should atleast have a substantial amount of time where I have actually lived there (short to an emphatic approach where I am immensely immersed in the culture, such that of an ethnographic study), have fraternized with the modern-day Americans (this up to now is highly debatable, but it is safe to be guided by their constitutional definition), or more so, have written a book on them. Unfortunately, I haven't. So if I am to continue, I would just go down on statistic as another guy who attempted and failed to describe the arts and culture of the USA.
Hope, though, is not far from this country to the USA. If you really are interested at knowing their culture, try reading a lot of books and magazines published by them for themselves, published by them for others, published by others for them, published by others for others as well to give you a wholistic perspective. It also helps to be induced by their TV programs and movies, although this does not entirely merit their actual culture in the real setting, mostly only popular culture. And upon exploring the internet, before you get dismayed browsing for eternity on the paper or write-up that you believe exists, try dissecting the big nation first in parts. It helps to know that each group of states have their own sets of culture that are apart from each other as each state have a different culture to another as well. Try browsing in parts, i.e. Eastcoast, Westcoast, North America, South America and Central America. You may also compartmentalize the arts and culture using these manner of division: American Northeast, American Northwest, American Plains and Midwest, American Southeast, and American Southwest.
Upon extracting and sourcing all the information regarding their different arts and culture, it is up to you now to filter what you think is mostly represented now by the media, not only theirs, but by the other countries as well so as not to be bias. I think in this manner, you have become successful in enlightening yourself with a brief manner on looking at the arts and culture of the USA. Again, as a disclaimer, that's not all folks!
