Buyuk Han: the Great Inn - Cyprus

With its history of about 500 years, the Great Inn is a pearl among historical buildings in the walled part of Nicosia. During the Ottoman Period, it served as an Inn. It was used as a prison during the British rule in the 1890s. around 1950, the Great Inn opened its gates to the poor. It was left empty when the poor families were expelled in 1962. just like the Cypriots, the inn suffered a lot. It was worn out and abandoned, but it never let anybody get it down. At the end of 1980’s it was remembered and restored. As a result of long and meticulous work, it regained its vitality and formed splendour.North Cyprus Holidays The artisans at the Great Inn who have been providing services to its visitors since two years are not just temporary.
