The Port Aventura, Salou is a theme park located within an hour from Barcelona and within 30 minutes of two airports. The park is family orientated and has shows, restaurants and rides for the whole family and can also boast being the largest in southern Spain.
The park itself is divided into five different areas which are known as Port Aventura worlds. The first world is called the Mediterranean which is home to the Furious Baco which accelerates from 0 to 135 km/h in just three seconds.
The second world is called the Far West which is the largest of all the Port Aventura worlds and features the park's second largest rollercoaster called Stamipida. The third world is Mexico and this can boast the Hurakan Condor which shoots visitors downwards at an unbelievable pace into the darkness below. Polynesia, the next world is considerably more gentle than the previous ones which offers a good rest before entering China the last of the Port Aventura worlds. Here you can take a ride on the Dragon Khan, the largest rollercoaster in the park which reaches a top speed of 110 km/h.
Just like any location around the world, Port Aventura puts on many Festive activities at Christmas. The Christmas and new year period at Port Aventura runs from the 22nd November to the 6th January. It’s magical snow and hundreds of lights give the attraction an enchanting atmosphere, perfect for sharing with the family; that's what Christmas is about after all. It is a great opportunity to catch some Christmas atmosphere by visiting the park for several days, where you can stay in a comfortable Port Aventura hotel To add to this there are, of course, shows put on specially for Christmas and new characters designed to squeeze out every last smile.
It is important to remember that the Park is only open on Saturdays and Sundays during November although a variety of other dates are made available over the Christmas period: From December 6th to 8th, 13th and 24th as well as the 20th until the 31st. In January the park opens from the 1st to the 6th.
Christmas is a time for spending with the Family. Even though Christmas has become more and more consumer lead throughout the developed world, there is still an emphasis on Family, even as the age old traditions are slowly playing a smaller role. There will be a special Christmas decoration in the Port Aventura hotels, to create a welcoming and warm atmosphere. Port Aventura, Salou offers a modern Christmas Experience which has something to offer for all the family, thus keeping the true spirit of Christmas alive and providing an unforgettable experience for the whole family. So do not miss to get your Port Aventura tickets, to experience a unique Christmas with your whole family.
