City Break in London

If you have decided to pass on your foreign holiday this year because you have been hit by the economic crisis then don’t despair there are other options. In the UK there are plenty of locations that are worth visiting, possibly places you wouldn’t have normally considered as you jet off to the sun.

Unfortunately the British summer is again a poor one so the opportunity to sunbathe in Torquay isn’t a real one. One suggestion is to go for a short break closer to home, our capital London. There is plenty to see there, you’ll never be bored. There is the Tower of London where you can hear all about its dark past as a place of torture and death. This tower has previously been a royal palace and an armoury and was once even a zoo!

Inside the tower you can see where the prisoners were held, some of whom were very famous, as well as have a look at the priceless Crown Jewels in the medieval bedchamber.

There is also Madame Tussauds home of the waxworks of famous people including Michael Jackson, sporting stars David Beckham and Lewis Hamilton and the royal family, The Queen, Princes Charles, Prince William and Prince Harry. You can interact with some of the most famous figures in the world and take pictures to show all the family when you get back home.

To enjoy amazing views over London take a trip up in the London Eye. The world’s largest observation wheel which will give you breathtaking views over all of the famous landmarks in London and amazing views for 30 minutes has to be seen.

London is an expensive city however with the current economic crisis there are many bargains to be had and those start with hotels,  London Hotels are offering discounts especially as the end of the summer season is approaching so it is possible to get huge savings off the cost of a hotel. Use the internet to search around and you may come across other bargain discounts and deals for tourist attractions or cheap travel between locations.
