Consider These Beach Destinations For Your Next Vacation

Are you getting ready to plan a beach vacation but you're not sure where you want to go? The United States has many beautiful beaches to choose from. Here are some of the top beach destinations in the U.S. you might consider.

Seaside, Oregon

Seaside, Oregon marked the end of the trail for Lewis and Clark but, for the vacationer looking for a great beach, Seaside has it all. Located in the great northwest, you'll find plenty of fun, sun and surf at Seaside, a world-class resort area for the whole family. Entertainment at Seaside includes amusement rides, arcades, and movies. You'll also find restaurants for every budget, from family to fine dining. Best of all, Seaside's attractions are all within walking distance of each other and are accessible for those in wheelchairs. And, if after you've visited all the attractions Seaside has to offer and find yourself longing for someplace quiet, take a drive ten miles south to Cannon Beach.

Catalina Island, California

In the mood for a little romance? Catalina delivers with its turquoise colored water, white sand beaches, and lush vegetation. There's plenty to do for two at Catalina. Pack a lunch and set out on foot or on a bicycle built for two to explore the island. You might just discover a hidden cove where you can have a romantic picnic! And when you tire of exploring the island on your own, you can take advantage of one of the many sightseeing tours Catalina offers - including glass bottom boat rides and scenic inland tours. For dinner, you can wine and dine while you watch the sunset over the water, and then take in a movie at the Avalon Theater. Then, head back to your cozy bed and breakfast or your beachfront hotel for a little rest and relaxation so you can get up and do it all over again tomorrow!

South Beach - Miami, Florida

If you live for the nightlife, South Beach is the place for you. Located in Miami, South Beach boasts hundreds of nightclubs, bars and general entertainment attractions. If you do plan to visit the clubs on the beach, be aware that you'll need a reservation or you'll need to know someone with access to be admitted. The beach itself is beautiful, and when you've had enough of the nightlife and the beach, you can enjoy shopping and browsing in Miami.

Coopers Beach - Southampton, New York

You may have heard of The Hamptons - the summertime recreation spot for the well to do. Southhampton has long been a getaway from the hustle of the big city for those with money. But, today anyone can enjoy the beaches in the area. Coopers Beach is scenic not only for it's natural beauty of white sand and surf, but also for the many historic mansions you can see from the shore. This is a great place to enjoy a leisurely walk or a picnic, yet there are plenty of places to dine and shop nearby. There are also several other beaches in the area to explore.
