Discover New Zealand in a fortnight

New Zealand is a destination that’s caught the fancy of the evolved Indian traveller. For the Indian traveller New Zealand is a destination that should be visited at least once after having visited the Far East and Europe. New Zealand is an experiential holiday and it fits the bill for such a traveller. The best way to enjoy New Zealand is to take a holiday for at least a fortnight. The main reason for opting for a long holiday is its long routing. Customers may take between 14-18 hours to reach Auckland either via, Singapore, Hong Kong or Sydney. Once you reach Auckland, it is better to take a break and rest the entire day. This is the best way to overcome jet lag.

The next day travel south to Waitomo and visit the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, including an underground boat ride viewing the millions of glowworms on the cavern roof. Continue over the Mamaku Ranges to the 'Thermal City' of Rotorua.

The highlight is a boat trip through the glowworm grotto where you glide beneath the lights of thousands of glowworms which live on the cave ceiling. Other highlights include Rangiriri - historic Maori Land Wars Battle Site, Ngaruawahia - home of the Maori Queen and Waikato River.

Overnight stay at Rotorua and get ready for a Grand Rotorua Experience Tour that includes includes the boiling mud pools and mighty geysers at Te Puia, carving and weaving demonstrations at the Maori Arts and Crafts Institute, Paradise Valley Springs - award winning Trout and Wildlife Park, a hands on farming experience at the Agrodome Sheep Show and ride the Skyline Gondola for spectacular views over Lake Rotorua

New Zealand is famous for its healing thermal waters and this is a good time to visit the Polynesian Pools when you have the time. It has a calming experience.

Take time out and journey across Cook Strait, which separates the North and South Islands of New Zealand, and into the Marlborough Sounds with its sparkling clear waters and lush forests, before arriving in Picton. Continue to Kaikoura, a town steeped in Maori history and legend.

The other destinations that one should visit are Queenstown, Christchurch and Dunedin.

These are some of the most important places to visit while in New Zealand. Travellers should be adventurous as New Zealand can test your endurance with some exhilarating jet rides, bungee jumping and if you want to see the destination at your own pace, there is also the option of hiring a car and driving around the country. Indian driving licence is valid in New Zealand.

So what are you waiting for just book a holiday and fly away.
