The diversified geographical features of India contribute to numerous jungles, national parks and wildlife sanctuaries across the country. India invites millions of nature lovers and wildlife enthusiast every year from different corners of world. India is very rich in flora and fauna. It has never failed to lure and entertain its visitors. Global tourists visit India to explore wild jungles and forests to spot variety of exotic flora and fauna. National parks and wildlife sanctuaries are frequently visited by the wildlife lovers as they get in touch with maximum flora and fauna there. There are more than four hundred national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in India.

Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park of India. It is located in Nainital district of Uttarakhand and is popularly called as "Tiger Country". The park is very picturesque and you can frequently spot animals. You will feel excited to see majestic tigers so closely in their natural habitat. You can also spot animals, rhinos, leopards, jackals and many other species of animals in the park. The park is very famous for tiger safari. People love chasing tigers in the jungle.

Ranthambhore National Park is another frequently visited wildlife destination in India. It is one of the most popular and largest national parks in India. It is situated in Rajasthan. In fact, one can say that it is an important charm of Rajasthan tourism. This park is also famous for tigers.

India has a large number of destinations for wildlife tourism. There are many birding spots, crocodile farm, deer sanctuaries, etc in India. All types of plants and animal species can be found in the jungles of India. Keoladeo Ghana National Park and Desert National Park are famous for birding in North India. One can also go for Himalayan birding tour. Periyar National Park, Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, Bandipur Bird Sanctuary are famous birding destination in South India.

East India is also rich in flora and fauna. Kaziranga National Park – one of the popular wildlife destinations of India is located in Assam. As per recent survey, this park is known to hold highest density of tigers. However, it is famous for one-horned rhinoceros and elephants. Tiger safari and elephant safari are very common in the park. Gir National Park is the only national park in India known for high population of king of jungle – Lion. It is located on the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat.
