Explore the Wildlife Destinations of North and South India

India is very rich in natural and wildlife heritage. You will find rich and varied collection of flora and fauna in different part of India. All four directions of India have quite wealthy collection of wildlife. As I am a Mogli, I love exploring different jungles and wildlife destination. I have explored various national parks of North and South India.

North India is flanked by Himalaya on one side and Aravali range and Thar Desert on the other side. Therefore, you can spot wildlife species of both Indo-Himalayan eco system and desert eco system. Your North India wildlife tour will be very enjoyable. You will see many species of flora, fauna and avifauna on your wildlife trip. Some of the popular national parks of North India are:

RanthambhoreNational Park: Ranthambhore National park is situated in the Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. It is a very popular wildlife destination and is famous for high density of tiger population in the park. You can spot tigers even during day hour. You will also spot many other species of flora and fauna in the park. The park is dominated with Dhok tree.

JimCorbettNational Park: It is the oldest and first national park of India. It is one of the most picturesque jungles of India. The jungle successfully inspired Rudyard Kipling to author famous "JUNGLE BOOK". This park is also famous for one more reason. The park is popularly called as ‘tiger country'. The park is known to house maximum number of tigers in India.

Some other famous wildlife destinations are Sariska Tiger Reserve in Rajasthan, Keoladeo Ghana National Park in Rajasthan, Dudhwa National Park in Uttar Pradesh, Great Himalayan National Park in Himachal Pradesh, Bandhavgarh National Park in Madhya Pradesh, etc

Some of the popular destinations for South India wildlife tour are as follow:

Periyar Tiger Reserve: Periyar Tiger Reserve is positioned in Kerala. You can enjoy many activities in Periyar sanctuary. You can enjoy bird watching, boating, animal watching, sightseeing here in the park. Some of the commonly found fauna in the park are elephants, gaur, sambar, wild dogs, tigers and leopards, etc. You will also spot hundreds of bird's species in the park.

NagaraholeNational Park: It is situated in Karnataka and is part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Common species of fauna in the park are elephants, monkeys, tigers and leopards, spotted dear, antelopes and sloth bears, etc. This park is also famous for holding many species of avifauna. You can see as many as 250 species of birds including Malabar pied hornbills, eagles and hawks in the park.

There are many other parks and sanctuaries in this part of the country where you should visit on your India wildlife tour. You can easily visit Muddumalai National Park, Nagarjunsagar Sanctuary, Bandipur National Park and many other jungles on wildlife tour India.
