The Reindeer in Lapland are more plentiful in the summer months, they wonder freely across Lapland's countryside and they will often walk out onto the roads as well. Many people are puzzled as to why the Reindeer like the roadside so much and it is because the rich moss in which they feed grows plentiful by the roadside. The black mosquito is also in force at this time of year and the roadside gives a little reprieve from these bothersome creatures.
Lapland is beautiful in the summer and of course Lapland experiences the midnight sun where there are several weeks where the sun does not set, meaning Lapland has 24 hour light, making the days endless. Many locals often go out into the forests of Lapland late into the evening and make the most of the light which is a real contrast to the dark winter months.
