Florida has long been a favourite here in the UK for holidays in the USA; it’s on the east coast, enjoys warm summers and has a whole host of tourist friendly attractions for all the family too. Every year thousands of Brits fly to Florida to enjoy their summer holidays in the USA and Florida is perfect, especially for children and family groups.
There are many theme parks including Universal Studios and the Walt Disney World Resort which are perfect for children of all ages, such as meeting all their favourite cartoon characters or riding thrilling roller coasters. A lot of these resorts have hotels and accommodation either within the complex or a very short distance away. Other theme parks include SeaWorld and Busch Gardens too which have a lot more wildlife, safari and sea life features. All these features mean that package holidays here are very popular and for good reason to.
Aside from the theme parks though there are plenty of other reasons to visit Florida. Florida sits on the border of the Caribbean and Atlantic oceans making it perfect for beaches, the crystal blue waters and golden sand beaches are perfect for lounging on and building up a suntan. Cities like Miami on the coast have magnificent art deco architecture and a vibrant night life which draws many tourists each year too.
Florida holidays has more to offer with many other features of the peninsula being major tourist draws. The Everglades is a vast area of sub tropical wetlands which is home to creatures such as alligators and amazingly the Burmese Python that has seemingly found a new home in the Everglades National Park. The Everglades are another tourist hotspot with airboat tours being a common sight with giant fans on the back of boats being propelled across the surface which is for the majority made of water.
Space exploration is another big attraction in Florida with the Kennedy Space Center open to the public with museum tours that will appeal to fans of the Apollo program and other space flight missions. The visitor complex at the Kennedy Space Center is second to none with IMAX screens, flight simulators and artefacts from past space missions all available to see with your very own eyes.
Florida has a wide range of different activities and attractions making it perfect for family holidays in the USA, the best time of year to visit Florida is typically early summer as in the latter stages of Summer the region enters hurricane season and is best to be avoided as high winds, rain and obviously hurricanes can be common.
