Whether it is a business trip or a West End jaunt or whether you are coming to London on business or pleasure, you will find that hotels and apartment accommodation will leave you more than satisfied. If you are the confident and experienced type hunting for a cheap airport hotel, be well advised to ask to see a couple of bedrooms and the shared facilities such as kitchens and bathrooms, before handing over your cash or card. If you have an early flight, why not book into one of the Heathrow airport hotels.

When you choose places to stay, you must think about access to and from your point of arrival. Cheap places to stay near the centre of London might not have convenient transport options but sometimes low cost of transport can be an incentive. For those seeking utmost luxury, there are good but moderately priced places to stay, luxury hotels with world-class Health clubs and other facilities.

London, with a population of about 7 million people is a very accessible city. It has five international airports, an efficient road network and extensive Underground, train, bus, and taxi services. London is a world-class city that never stops evolving. Although it is a modern city and a world commercial centre, it still retains it aura of authentic classic and historical touch. The city is famous for a wealth of history and culture. Home to Britain's national art collections, the Royal family and a host of major attractions, London's rich history, striking architecture and over 200 of the world's best museums and galleries offer a unique cultural experience. Generally, London is a multicultural city that is vibrant with music, fashion and pop culture scene offering visitors excellent shopping, restaurants and tourist attractions.

Visitors come from far and wide to stay in London. London is well served by air. There are several airports surrounding the city. These are London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Stansted Airport and Luton as well as the City of London Airport near the Docklands. Trains to this wonderful capital are adequate and regular. The main stations are Paddington, Waterloo, Victoria and Kings Cross. You may want to travel by road, although costs of parking in London and congestion are important considerations meaning you might prefer to leave the motor at home. Roads are excellent from the country's north, west and south and ferry links to Europe make driving to London easy and fast. Don't forget the EuroStar fast trains from London to Brussels and Paris.

Pre-Book your room before you fly. It is easy to pin your hopes on finding a cheap bargain place on your arrival but this can be a tough and risky decision. Like most cities, local trusted agencies can help you through their inside information, to track down a last minute room. But this is not a risk worth taking, especially if you are traveling for the first time. Check out Heathrow Airport Hotels with Holiday Extras. You could get yourself a bargain.

As the city prepares for the London Olympics in 2012, the Government has pledged to increase lodging standards across the board. Indeed, London offers every sort of lodging, ranging from deluxe hotels through to family run guest houses, basic B & B's, hostels, short term rental studios and even the odd campsite. Well that is a long way off yet, in the meantime remember and practice the good old Holiday Checklist. It could save you money and time. Make sure you confirm the place you stayed in on your last visit is still operational. Otherwise you could be greeted by a bold hors service or en panne (out of service) sign in the middle of the night.
