“jamaica Farewell” - My Travels on a Budget!

With a fruity drink in one hand and your acceptance of the Caribbean lifestyle, there is no surprise that just the mention of Jamaica conjures up images of lush beaches, warm waters and the bright sunshine.

As the US dollar continues to falter, more and more families, couples and friends have opted out from taking their annual vacation.  The price of gas has become so astronomical that the simple act of going to the grocery store may end up costing you more then simply ordering a pizza and having it delivered.  Enter the All-Inclusive Resort.  The Caribbean and Mexico have a strangle hold on these ‘special’ resorts where everything is included in one price.  All the food, drinks (most offer alcohol), and entertainment you can handle.  For the budget traveler, there really is no better or easier way to travel.

Jamaica has almost re-invented the way that all inclusive resorts cater to their guests.  One particular resort is the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica.   Along with the standard stamp of all inclusive resorts (breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks), The Gran Bahia is one of the largest resorts in the Caribbean, but its shear size isn’t overpowering. The Gran Bahia offers daily activities including snorkeling, windsurfing and kayaking just to mention a few, to nightly entertainment where you can turn back the clock and display your inner rock-star at their karaoke bar or relive your days of dancing the night away in their disco club.   They also offer one of the most sought after amenities for traveling families; a supervised kids club! I only had a long weekend, so I paid,  $459 for 3 nights with airfare - my friends stayed 5 days and got a $200 air credit on top of the great deal!

From the 3 Jacuzzis to the 2 swim-up bars to the bridges crossing along the way, along with the miles of beautiful beach front property, there isn’t a lack of water activities. The pool is probably the largest (& cleanest) one I’ve ever seen.

With a savings of up to 50% on these and other deluxe All-Suite All-Inclusive resorts including airfare, Jamaica vacations are back!

It’s Party Time…

By: Yvonne Dawson | 09/12/2009
Cheap holidays in Majorca are synonymous with lazy days on the beach and long nights spent partying. Nowhere on the island is more popular for this than the legendary Magalluf. With over 100 bars and clubs to choose from it’s impossible to visit them all, although I’m sure many people have tried.

By: Larry Austin | 09/12/2009
Benidorm is an ultimate tourist destination located about 45km northeast of Alicante. With skyscraper skyline, it stands out for its beautiful beach and nightlife. The city itself is surrounded by high mountains which perfectly protects it from the cold north winds. As a destination Benidorm is always busy with tourists- the surrounded seafront hotels, lovely nightlife, endless restaurants and great shopping facilities add to the beauty of this holiday destination.

The Great Barrier Reef is also home to a lot of different life forms and species

By: Paul Ingersole | 09/12/2009
Australia is the home to the Great Barrier Reef. Corals are interesting creatures. They don’t look like they are actually living, but they are. The coral reefs are a collection or a grouping of different types of coral. The Great Barrier Reef is billed as one of the seven wonders of the world. And this is all because a big group of coral decided to congregate together. It is amazing and beautiful.

Coral reefs grow all over the world. Basically wherever the climate is warm

By: Paul Ingersole | 09/12/2009
Because they are so sensitive, this dictates where they will grow. They like tropical regions where the water is warm. They also can’t tolerate an area that has a lot of waves. Since they are delicate, they’ve learned that even a hit from a wave can cause harm to it. So they simply don’t grow in these situations. Unfortunately, this means that these are conditions that people find desirable for diving and snorkeling. Damage to the coral reefs from these activities is very possible.

In terms of amenities, the Coral Reef Club is really well equipped

By: Paul Ingersole | 09/12/2009
If you think you want to stay at the Coral Reef Club, there are a few things you should keep in mind. First, since it is a luxury club, be prepared to spend more money than you would if you stayed somewhere else. Also, there are certain times of year that the club is more expensive to stay at than others.

Tips to Consider on Your Next Cruise

By: Rich Gonzalez | 07/12/2009 | Travel Tips
I happen to love cruising – but I do understand the apprehension of those folks that don’t share my enthusiasm – the long lines, the stampede towards the buffet – are just a few things that could make anyone teetering between a cruise or a land getaway; head straight for a vacation experience that doesn’t involve a moving vessel. Here are some tips to help get you onboard with cruising.

Make Your New Years Resolution to Travel More

By: Rich Gonzalez | 13/11/2009 | Destinations
With the Holiday Season sneaking up on us again this year, there hardly seems to be enough time to think about anything else. A few years back my resolution was that I would never make another one, but much like that resolution to discontinue eating all the things that are bad for me, I have reconsidered.

This list looks at these ‘diamonds in the rough’.
