Kerala Backwater Tourism

 

Kerala is a scenic state located in South India. Kerala is tremendously popular for the tourism in India. The main attractions of Kerala are Kerala Backwaters, Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Munnar Tea Estates, Cochin, Kumarakom, Alleppey, Kerala Houseboats, Kovalam Beaches and various other beaches of Kerala. Other than these activities, the tourists visiting Kerala may also witness the live performance of traditional dances of Kerala Kathakali dance at Cochin. Cochin or Kochi, which is one of the finest harbors in India houses many traditional theaters those are quite notable for Kathakali dance performances.

 

Kerala Cuisine is also very popular among the tourists and the many tour operators of Kerala organize Kerala Cuisine tour popularly known as Kerala Curry and Spice tour. In recent years, Kerala has got fame in Indian Tourism for its Yoga and Ayurvedic treatments. The tourists can reach to Kerala via air, rail and road route. Kerala has got three international airports namely Kochi international airport, Kozhikode international airport and Trivandrum airport. The major cities of Kerala are also connected by Indian Railway network. Kerala has got very nice national and state highways connecting it with the main cities of neighboring states.

 

If we talk about theme tourism in the sate, then the Kerala Beach Tourism, Kerala Backwater/ Houseboat Tourism, Kerala Wildlife Holidays, Kerala Hill Station Tourism, Kerala Cultural Tourism and Kerala Spice Plantation Tourism. The famous beaches of Kerala are Marari Beach, Kovalam Beach, Varkala Beach and Karasgod Beach.

 

If you talk about Kerala Wildlife, then the popular names would be Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary also known as Periyar National Park which is Tiger Reserve as a part of Project tiger in India. The other wildlife sanctuaries in Kerala are Chinar Wildlife Sanctuary, Eravikulam National Park, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary and Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary.
