New Zealand: An Adventure Seeker’s Dream Holiday

Every holidaymaker has his or her own notion of what the perfect holiday entails. Some, for example, might yearn for quiet and secluded spots where they can soak up the serenity of their surroundings, while others enjoy a mix of easy-going activities and relaxation. Still, there are some holidaymakers who crave the thrill of adrenaline-fuelled activities, such as bungee jumping, sky diving, jet skiing and snowboarding.

When choosing the type of holiday you want to go on, it's important to consider destinations that will cater to the activities you wish to partake in. For instance, if you like sun, sand and seclusion, you might consider taking a beach holiday on a quiet, tropical island. However, if you enjoy sightseeing, museums and culture, you'd be better off planning an exciting city break. Similarly, if you’re after adventure and adrenaline-fuelled activities, you’ll be better choosing a destination that specialises in such activities - with one of the best being New Zealand.

New Zealand is world-renowned for its stunning natural beauty but it’s also famous for its adventure sports activities. Countless adventure seekers head to New Zealand each year to bungee jump off bridges, skydive over spectacular terrain, ride jet skis in sparkling lakes and snowboard over majestic mountains. The country is full of activities for every type of adventure seeker and it’s certainly one of the world’s best and most beautiful spots for adventure sports.

So where are the best spots for the types of adventure activities you’re interested in? Lake Wanaka and Fox Glacier are popular for skydiving, while Queenstown (South Island) and Taupo (North Island) are popular locales for bungee jumping. Coronet Peak, Whakapapa (Mt Ruapehu) and Craigieburn Ski Field are the renowned spots for skiing and snowboarding, while Nelson, the Marlborough Sounds and Kaikoura are all popular jet skiing locations.

New Zealand is strewn with ideal locales to experience all of these activities so no matter where in the country you find yourself, you’re sure to be able to experience some of the best adventure activities in the world. There is a long history of adventure sports in New Zealand and the instructors that work there have a lot of experience and knowledge that helps to keep you safe and sound. New Zealanders have also been instrumental in inventing new adventure sports, such as Zorbing where you throw yourself down a hill in a giant inflatable ball! The first Zorb site in the world was at Rotorua, New Zealand.

So, are you one of those adventure seekers who loves an adrenaline-fuelled holiday? If so, New Zealand holidays offer so much to so many different types of traveller, but in terms of adventure sports it really is one of the best places in the world.
