Nicklaus North Location

Nicklaus North derives its name from golf legend, Jack Nicklaus (a.k.a. “The Golden Bear”) who designed the world-acclaimed golf course within the area. The location of Nicklaus North is ideal for those who love to golf or ski, yet still enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep.

Access to the mountains is easy with ski lifts just a 5 minute drive, taxi or bus ride away. Bus service is affordable ($2 transfer as of September 2009) and runs frequently throughout the day and into the evening.

The Nicklaus North area also includes a number of paved trails excellent for jogging and walking during the winter or cycling and rollerblading in the summer.

Activities, Amenities and Restaurants in Nicklaus North

Set amongst a stunning emerald lake, majestic firs and magnificent snow-capped peaks, Nicklaus North provides the perfect setting for one of the greatest golf courses in North America. Put your skills to the test and take on the challenging par 71, 18-hole Nicklaus North golf course. Surrounded by breath-taking alpine scenery, if the course itself doesn’t pose a challenge then keeping focus on your game just might.

The attached Den Restaurant is a great place to stop by for a casual drink or a full course meal. Relax in the restaurant’s pleasant dining room, cozy lounge or lake side patio with breath-taking mountain views.

Other amenities, services and restaurants at Nicklaus North include:

  • Meadow Park Sports Centre – take advantage of a variety of exercise choices with fitness facilities, indoor pool, indoor skating rink and racquetball courts.
  • Meadow Park – spend a day outside with the family! Includes picnic sites, playground, basketball/tennis courts and baseball diamonds.
  • Horse-drawn sleigh rides and ice skating on Green Lake (winter).
  • Edgewater Restaurant – vaulted ceilings, oversized windows and beautiful mountain vistas makes this the perfect fine dining experience.*closed to the public until May 2010
