If you are visiting Sydney for the first time, then you must arrange your trip before coming over. Finding the best accommodation will help you in making your Sydney holiday a success. Your itinerary will dictate where you should stay. So pick the one closest to most of the places that you will be visiting. Also, travel with less money by bringing along a credit card or your ATM card. Some websites are selling travel cards that will allow you access to a lot of Sydney attractions by just using the card.

Before you decide on picking your Sydney accommodation, it is advised that you make a plan of the activities that you will be doing. The following tourist attractions are recommended for all tourists visiting Sydney for the first time.

Landmarks

Sydney’s most famous landmark is the Opera House, so it is best for you to include this in your itinerary. Tourists can get inside the Opera House and discover its magic through some guided tours. There are even guided tours in different languages to best reach out to the visitors.

The tallest free-standing infrastructure in Sydney should be next on your list. Sydney Tower will allow you to view Sydney in its glory. Also, you can sample an Australian cuisine on the topmost level of this tower while you fill your senses with the beauty of the scenery.

Let St. Mary’s Cathedral inspire and humble you. It features a famous crypt with a mosaic floor containing scenes from the Creation. This is only open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., so if you plan on seeing the mosaic, then better visit the cathedral at least few hours before closing time.

Historic Places

The Government House was once the home of the New South Wales governor. This historic landmark features colonial architecture and beautiful art collections. The gardens around the house are also open for the public.

The Rocks area is full of colonial churches and architecture. This was where the great Captain Arthur Phillip created his settlement in Sydney.

Wildlife and Marine Zoos

The Sydney Aquarium is perhaps another spot that the tourist visiting Sydney for the first time should visit. Large glass tunnels meander inside the water tanks to allow the tourists to see the different marine species swim around the gigantic aquarium.

Featherdale Wildlife Park is the place to go if you want to see some genuine Australian wildlife. A huge collection of native Australian animals is housed in this zoo.

Another great place to consider is the Koala Park Sanctuary, which will allow you to see one of Australia’s endemic species. Guides will help you spot a koala, so keep your eyes open.

Walks

Sydney Harbour Bridge Walk will allow you an awesome view of Sydney and the surrounding waters. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is also one of the most famous landmarks of the city.

Darling Harbour Walk is great for strolling and relaxation. Tourists can also watch concerts aboard the pontoons that float in the harbour.
