The Kenya Wildlife

Kenya has a tropical climate. It receives sunshine almost all year round. The coldest months are between June and August. Summer clothes are worn all year round for the country is not that cold. The warmest areas are near the coast and around Lake Victoria. The central part of Kenya is the coldest as it is a highland. It is also the most fertile place receiving adequate rainfall to cater for the countries food needs. Between March and June, the country receives lots of rainfall and the short rains are received in October and November going through to December.

Due to the conducive environment and climate, Kenya is home to many species of animals and birds. These are normally found in the savanna grasslands of the country. The Masaai Mara is one great home for Kenyan wildlife. There is a considerable number of game parks and game reserves.  The Kenyan government is doing all that it can to preserve its wildlife heritage. This was being threatened by poachers and human encroachment in to forests therefore driving the animals away.

Due to the diverse species of animals found in this country, Kenya is a tourist hub. They come to see the great five. These are the Lion, The leopard, the rhinoceros, the buffalo and the elephant. The lion is known as the King of the jungle and it is the favorite of the big five. The wildebeest migration that takes place in the months of June and September has now become the 8th world wonder. This attracts people all over the world.

    Kenya is a home of very many different species of animals. These have been a source of revenue in the country as tourists come to see them. Tourism is a major revenue earner and it employs thousands of people locally and abroad. It is a thriving business and a treasured one. The government is doing all it can to market itself abroad and this has seen positive impact in the industry.

    Kenya is a very beautiful country with lots of wild animals. These make a major tourist attraction. The most notable are the big five. These are the lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and the buffalo. Most of these animals can be found in the Kenyan jungle. The buffalo which is a grazer can be found in large herds in the savanna green lands. It is very large and weighs approximately 900kgs.

    Kenya is made up of about 40 tribes. These are categorized into the Bantu, Nilotic and Cushitic speaking people. The biggest group is the Bantu speakers and the Kikuyu dominate the gruop. The Bantu originated from western africa, the nilotic people came from Sudan and the Cushitic people came from Somalia and Ethiopia.
