The Wonderful Little Town Called Cairns

Cairns is a city that is filled with palm-fringed beaches, sparkling waterfalls, and lush rainforests. This is also a tourism haven that offers a fantastic Cairns holiday for everyone. Cairns accommodation is also varied. 1. Tjapukai Cultural Park. This is actually an exceptional attempt in describing the Aboriginal culture in a distinctive and thematic way. It presents guests with a rare chance to live through the Aboriginal culture via the Cultural Village that teaches visitors how to use a boomerang and throw a spear. You would also have a unique experience in the Creation Theatre, wherein the story of the creation is conveyed in the Tjapukai language but of course, there is a headset translation. 2. Skyrail. You would have a fantastic experience in the Skyrail. It is a splendid 7.5 kilometer journey that travels across a tropical river, alongside a massive waterfall as well as throughout an unspoiled tropical rainforest. You could experience all of nature’s beauty without having to damage the stunning landscapes. Your first stop would be the Barron Falls Station. This rail presents an outstanding vision of the Barron Gorge. After that, you would be allowed to get off from the cable car and you could walk near the cliffs to get a better picture of the Barron Falls. Then, you would need to ride the cable car again and you would go through the top of the rainforest before getting off at the Red Peak Station. You could then admire the diversity of the rainforest from on the wooden walkway.

 

3. The Botanical Gardens. The Flecker Botanic Gardens located at Collins Avenue in Edge Hill are generally thought of as the most remarkable botanical exhibit in all of Queensland. It houses more than 10,000 species and it boast of a fantastic view over Cairns. These gardens were started back in 1886 and they were named after Dr. Hugo Flecker, who a dedicated biologist and botanist and he actually founded the North Queensland Naturalists' Club. One point of interest in these gardens is the Aboriginal Plant Use Garden. It includes plants that were utilized by local Aborigines for their food, medicine, shelter, as well as weapons.

 

4. Cairns Historical Museum. This museum has a great exhibit of history that concerns Cairns and the region. Its records of the city's history—from the arrival of Captain Cook to its maritime history until the railway’s development—is accompanied by excellent displays of several Aboriginal artifacts as well as a fascinating video regarding the Great Barrier Reef.
