Vanuatu is located in the South Pacific Ocean. Melanesian people were the first inhabitants here. After that many Europeans began to settle down here. Vanuatu is a symbolic representation of the happiest place on the earth. It is y shaped and consists of four main islands and eighty smaller islands. Port Villa is the capital city of Vanuatu.

There are many places to visit at Port Villa. The cultural centre, the hand made carvings found in the local markets and necklaces made out of seashells, baskets and mat-weaving which are made out of local materials is the centre of attraction. There are a lot of sandy beaches at Port Villa and fishing trips are also available here. There is also a beautiful waterfall at Mele village.

Erakor Island is very a nice place in Port Villa which has sandy beaches and has a free ferry to take people to their resorts which operates 24 hours a day. There is also another island called the hideaway island which is well known for hand feeding fishes and also it's under water post-office.

Irirriki island resort is a famous honey moon spot. There's another island called the Santo Island which is very famous for diving sites. Bossica Island is a very romantic place. Tanna is again an island famous for its volcanoes. So Vanuatu is made of eighty islands and all of these have some kind of new experiences. There's also a famous dance called the toka dance. Pentecost Island is famous for bungee jumping. Each man jumps off the tower which is thirty five meters high and gets his own wine.

Vanuatu has beaches, coral hills, volcanic mountains, plain coasts and deep crystal harbours. There is abundance of water in Vanuatu. Tropical climate prevails at Vanuatu. There are 4000 marine species found in this island. Vanuatu is divided in to three cultural regions. The northern region symbolizes wealth and how much people can spend, the central region is influenced more or less by the melanesian culture and the southern region with the granting of titles. English, French and Bislama are the three main languages in Vanuatu. Christianity is the main religion here. There are many churches also like the Presbyterian church. Roman Catholic and Anglican are the other churches.

It is a beautiful island and consists of several other islands and a visit to these places can be a life time memory. Nobody can forget the beautiful moments spent here and a visit to any place here helps us to gain knowledge of not only the scenes and sceneries of the island but also the traditions, the culture, the religion and the languages of the place. Vanuatu, though a very small island but has many learning experiences .Vanuatu is very near to Australia and New Zealand. In Vanuatu, there is deep seas and wreck drives, a 18 hole golf course, horse riding on the beaches, volcanoes and rainforests, many restaurants with numerous dishes.
