Uttaranchal - Perfect Place for India Tourism

Uttaranchal state is situated in northern part of India. The state is covered by Himachal Pradesh in north-west, Uttar Pradesh in south and international borders with Nepal and China. Uttaranchal born as 27th state of Republic of India on 9th November 2000 after that it was rename in January 2007 and now it is Uttarakhand. The land area of the state is 55,845 sq km. which is 88% hilly and 12% ground. The total population of state is around 7 million.

According to tourism point of view, the state is well known not only in India but also all over the world. It has several pilgrimage places Haridwar, Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri so it is also called “Dev Bhoomi” means “Land of Gods”. Apart from pilgrimage places Uttaranchal has lots of beautiful hill stations like Mussoorie, Nainital, Lansdowne, Dhanaulti, Auli, Ranikhet, Munsyari, Kausani and Valley of Flowers which makes perfect to Uttaranchal tourism.

When we talk about north India tourism, we must talk about Uttaranchal. Your north India tours will not be completed with Uttaranchal tourism. Today, 70% population of the state is depended on agriculture but Govt. is trying to develop tourism industry in the state and Uttaranchal tourism industry is growing day by day. Kumbh Mela is one the major attraction of the state, millions of people comes here for a dip into Ganga during the Kumbh Mela and the next Kumbh Mela will be held in 2010 in Haridwar.

Millions of people come every year for pilgrimage tours when 4 Dham (Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri) are open in summer season. All major hill stations have been crowded during summer because near by ground area has been hot at that time. Uttaranchal is perfect for tourism in summer as well as in winter season, tourist can enjoy of live snow fall in winter. In near future, Uttaranchal tourism will be a major part of India Tourism industry.
