India is a vast country with second largest population in the world.  Its population is marginally short than China. India is having 28 states and 8 Union territories and it is the largest democracy in the world Indian society is mixture of most of the religions. Hindu, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists Parsees etc. All living with peace and harmony. Though Hindus are in Majority, all religions and faiths have equal rights and are living with peace and harmony. The people living in India are most peaceful and one will be surprised to know that India never attacked or took over any country in the past 9000 years old History of India., whether it was a big or small country, where as India has been a victim of being ruled by foreigners for more than 600 years .

Geographical Position: - India is situated in the South of Asian continent. Its three sides are covered by sea i.e. in east it is covered by Bay of Bengal, in South by Indian Ocean and in West it is covered by Arabian Sea. In the North the Great Himalayan Range covers the Indian continent. India is also having two groups of Islands In the bay Bengal and Arabian Sea. These island are in their Natural form and are not disturbed by present modernization and are very good place for water games

India is the 12th largest economy of the world and 4th largest purchasing power in the world. India is one of the fastest growing economy having economic growth of 8% and above .The name India is derived from the word Indus and Northern part of undivided India was known for Indus valley civilization though most part of it has gone to Pakistan after partition of India in 1947.
