Volusia County Florida: Not Just A Tourist Destination

With more than a half million permanent residents, forty-seven miles of beaches and over eight million visitors per year, Volusia County Florida is one of the best-known destinations in the United States of America. Boasting not only a wide array of readily available water sports, Volusia is also home to one of the largest land sport competitions in the world: the world-famous Daytona 500. This modern culture merges easily with the rivers and wildlife preserves along the county's western border making Volusia not only one of the most famous tourist locations in the world, but also one of the most sought-after areas in which to live and prosper.

In Florida's tradition of extensive golf opportunities, Volusia is home to the international headquarters of the Ladies Professional Golf Association and boast many hundreds of holes of golf that are readily available to both visitors and residents. The county's centralized location in the state of Florida also allow a short and easy drive to attractions such as Disney World and the Kennedy Space Center and major cities like Jacksonville, Miami and Tampa.

Ormond Beach provides a natural beauty that includes beautiful tree-lined streets, extensive beaches along the Atlantic coast, lush vegetation throughout the community and a climate of warm, mild weather the whole year around. Technically a northern suburb of much-larger Daytona Beach, Ormond features a smaller population of just over 35,000 people.

Despite being a small part of the larger East Central Florida metropolitan area and in close proximity to the Daytona Beach area, New Smyrna Beach has managed to maintain a quaint small-town charm and aura that continues to draw hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Home to a nationally recognized center of performing and visual arts, this small beach community of 22,000 people combines culture of a large city with the charm of a beach town. The historic downtown area offers visitors and residents access to boutique shopping and high-end dining while a short five minute walk presents a close-knit town with a focus on church and community spirit.

Deltona is the largest city in Volusia County, home to more than 90,000 people. Long considered one of the most livable cities in North America, Deltona is well-known for its safe and affordable communities and overall low cost of living. The mild climate that Florida is exalted for combines with over 95 acres of parkland in this stunning city to provide its residents with a relaxed and natural atmosphere that is conducive to both work and play.
