A Guide To Buying New Or Used Stair Lifts

Buying a home stair lift is a big decision, not to mention a major expense. If you are choosing a stair lift for you or a loved one is a series of points to consider to help you decide between a model of high-priced brand new or second hand cheaper. Used stair lifts have their advantages and disadvantages compared to new ones. These are described here.

A new brand recognition of the ladder are likely to come with a high price tag, but the high cost comes with a variety of benefits. One of the main advantages is that a newstair lift will give you the peace of a manufacturer warranty, so it will be covered in the unlikely event of a breakdown. You can also have confidence with an updated model that spare parts should be easy to get from the manufacturer. New stair lifts come with a variety of special optional features, so you can select the best for your needs, such as a swivel seat or footrest. A newstair lift will be tailored to fit your particular staircase, and will be professionally installed by your ISP. You can expect reliable performance and a sleek look if you choose a newmodel.

Moreover, an obvious advantage of stairlifts is that they are used much cheaper in price and good quality reconditioned stair lift can be reliable and good value for money. However, remember that a stair lift second-hand is likely to have a limited warranty, or none at all if you buy from a private sale, and is likely to be difficult to find spare parts, if the model is no longer produced. If purchasing a used stair lift from a supplier, check if it is second-hand or has been reconditioned, and make sure you are aware of the magnitude of the collateral. It is advisable to establish a contract for regular service and maintenance to prolong the life of stair lift.

Other things to consider are that if you have curved stairs can be very difficult to find a used stair lift curve that fits and is very likely that you have to buy a new rail link. It can be very expensive to customize a straight stair lift to accommodate a spiral staircase. The installation of an elevator from the steep staircase with a platform may be a more cost effective than installing a lift of curved staircase. It is generally much easier to find astair lift is suitable for using a straight line because the track can be cut to size.

With these considerations in mind, you should be able to find a good deal on a stair lift that is right for your needs and fits your budget.

Going back in time

I was in the fortunate position to be able to sit and watch three youngsters dragging their soapbox up the hill to the designated start point, where the assault on their version of the land speed record would begin. Mind your manners

When I visit a restaurant it’s usually best to go with family or close friends who know how I feed myself, or I run the risk of them rushing off in embarrassment and horror at the first slurp or dribble that is totally alien to them but has become the norm for me. Yes, I slurp, dribble, and miss my mouth with my fork and spill large quantities of food on my bib come serviette or my shirt front if I miss the bib.

Depression and I

By: Roly Clulow | 29/11/2009
I really hate this disease and what it’s doing to my body, my life and my family. I can’t go on with the pain and the mental anguish. The uncertainty and the fear are crushing my spirit. I don’t want to be here anymore. Please take me away Lord. I know I’m being selfish by wanting to leave this planet because my family and friends will miss me when I’m gone. (I hope)

My faithful friends

By: Roly Clulow | 29/11/2009
Today the sun is trying hard to burn off the clouds and the rain has stopped, for a while. I hear the little birds twittering and tweeting in the bush outside my window. My two little mongrel friends jump up on the bed to say good morning. Forgotten is the scolding they got daily from their grumpy old friend who was miserable and unfriendly for the past two or three days.

Oh! How I hate you

Oh! How I hate this disease today. The aches, the pains, the cold, the loneliness and the quiet. All eating at my hands, feet, knees and heart even though I am warmly dressed and wrapped in a blanket.

Home Teeth Whitening From Your Dentist

By: Yvonne Corilla | 27/11/2009 | Health
It used to be that the only teeth whitening treatment available was through your local dentist. That’s because teeth whitening solutions or gels were thought to be somewhat dangerous in the hands of the everyday consumer. They carried with them a high concentration of peroxide and could easily irritate or burn the softer tissues in and around the mouth if they were used incorrectly. So dentists remained in charge of early teeth whitening treatments.
