The early signs of pregnancy are not easy to note especially if you are not prepared for it. Here we will enumerate ten of the most widely known signs of pregnancy so you can follow and check with a doctor if experiencing these signs makes you doubt your status.
Frequent urination –
Urinating more frequently than usual is a symptom that you might be pregnant. Some women might experience this even before missing a period. The hormones released after the fusion of the sperm cell and the egg takes place makes the woman want to urinate more frequently.
Spotting –
When implantation takes place and your menstrual cycle is about to begin, you might notice some spotting of blood. This bleeding would be light and only pink or brown and not a heavy red menstrual flow.
High body temperature –
During ovulation it is normal for the body temperature to remain slightly high. So if your body temperature has remained high for a considerable period and its not the time for your menstrual cycle there may be chances of pregnancy.
Fatigue –
Lack of energy and feeling tired is a common phenomenon too during pregnancy. This may be a tougher sign to distinguish from other kinds of tiredness so you will have to check for other signs that accompany this feeling. Fatigue usually happens due to change in hormones in your body during pregnancy.
Missing your period –
This could be one of the most obvious signs of pregnancy. Many women do miss their periods due to other reasons like anemia, stress, anxiety, medications and hormonal imbalances but if your menstrual cycle otherwise occurs regularly and you have skipped it, in all probability you are pregnant.
Cramps –
Cramps will occur during normal moving around or orgasms if you are pregnant. It is natural during pregnancy.
Feeling nauseated –
Morning sickness is also one of the most definitive signs of pregnancy. You might feel weak and want to vomit when you wake up in the morning or even at different hours. But in the mornings your blood sugar is low and this sign is expected to emerge mostly then.
Tenderness of breasts –
When you are newly pregnant your hormone changes will cause you much discomfort and several new changes of which feeling a sense of tenderness in your breasts and nipples is one. This you will gradually get accustomed to once you are a few weeks into pregnancy.
Darkening of the areolas –
The area around the nipples will become darker and swell up as the breast prepares to feed the new baby if you pregnant.
Constipation –
Your bowel functioning might change during the first trimester. The intestines would function differently and want to relax more. This too is because of changes in hormone levels.
Once you have notices these signs, test your pregnancy with a home pregnancy test and on confirming your pregnancy, fix your doctor and ensure you receive regular check ups as they are important for a pregnant mother.
