A Look at Std

Let's face it. Sex is a fact of life. But today, more and more sexual liberation and tolerance have led to unconventional practices and encouraged sexual orientation that were once considered taboo to be accepted by a large number of people. Without a judgement for people who prefer sexual experience in their affairs, this liberal attitude and behaviour could lead to serious consequences if the parameters to a pleasant and safe sexual activities are not observed and respected. The same with the general public who did not sound understanding and appreciation of sexual health issues and standards which could lead to neglect of their sexual partners.

Each sexual encounter should be coupled with a responsible attitude. The lack thereof may lead to unwanted pregnancies that lead to May emotional and psychological complications, not only for parents but also children. Unprotected sex also describes sexual partners at high risk of contracting chronic sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Do not be deceived. Even the person apparently in good health beside you may be suffering from sexually transmitted diseases, without you or that person's knowledge. Although some STDs May produce obvious symptoms, most STDs are asymptomatic infections that are not noted the signs and symptoms. Thus, it can be called the "silent" infection. Such cases can be diagnosed through medical testing. However, there is no broad program that requires routine check-up. In addition, there appears to be a lack of public awareness compounded by social stigma regarding sexually transmitted diseases, which prevents people discuss their choices with health professionals.

Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) are diseases caused by viruses, bacteria and parasites and can easily be transmitted through body contact during sex. Sometimes, STDs takes a long time to display any type symptoms. Some of the most common affecting STDs sexually active:

l Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease caused by a bacterial infection. It is the most common bacterial STD deal, but if not given the attention May cause serious problems later in life. l Genital herpes is caused by a virus called herpes simplex and can affect the mouth, genitals, the skin around the anus and fingers. After the first outbreak of herpes is completed, the virus hides in nerve fibres and remains totally unnoticed without causing symptoms. Symptoms usually appear one to 26 days after exposure and lasts two to three weeks. Symptoms include itching in the genital or anal, small liquid-filled blisters which may burst and leave small wounds that can be very painful, urine discomfort, and a flu syndrome, back pain, sore headache, swollen glands and fever.

l Genital warts are caused by human papilloma virus (HPV). These are small fleshy growths found anywhere on a man or woman of the genitals or on different parts of the body such as hands and anus. After being infected with the virus genital warts, it usually takes between 1 and 3 months for warts appear on your genitals. They May occur singly or in groups. They May itching, but are usually painless. Often, there are no other symptoms. If a woman has its warts on the cervix, this slight May cause bleeding or, very rarely, a color unusual vaginal discharge.

l Gut infections are bacterial infections that can be transmitted during sex. When they reach your instincts, they can cause diarrhea and stomach pains. Abstinence is the best thing to avoid contracting an STD. If you are sexually active, the practice of safe sex can greatly help reduce the risk of STDs. Always use condoms during sexual intercourse or dental dams for oral sex. Be sure to disinfect sex toys before and after use. Observe the genital hygiene routines, as well as keeping your hands clean at all times. Consult your health care professional for advice on getting tested for STDs.
