Nobody enjoys the feelings of acid reflux. It can be annoying. It can feel awful. If the attack is really bad, it can sometimes lay you up for a while. On the plus side, there are now many different ways to successfully treat the symptoms of acid reflux. Of course, figuring out the best course of action requires your being able to identify some of the major acid reflux symptoms. In this article we will talk about some of the acid reflux symptoms that you should be able to identify.

Some people with acid reflux symptoms throw up. Of course, vomiting can be caused by many conditions other than acid reflux. Acid reflux attacks, however, do sometimes cause people to vomit. People with this condition can vomit when the food in their stomachs, along with stomach acid that's been building up, becomes too much for the stomach to hold. Of course, acid reflux can cause the acid in your stomach to reach excessive levels even when there isn't a large amount of food in your stomach. If vomiting is a typical symptom for you, this is definitely something to talk about with your doctor. Your doctor can help you find a way to manage the acid levels in your stomach. One of the most common acid reflux symptoms is dyspepsia, which is a feeling of discomfort in the stomach. When you experience this symptom, it's quite similar to feeling gas in your stomach or how you feel when you've overeaten. It can also feel like a gnawing sensation as your stomach works to deal with the extra acid that it is producing. If you are suffering from dyspepsia, you should do everything you can to lower the levels of stress in your life, as this can contribute to this symptom. A trip to your primary health care provider is also a good idea.

Another symptom of acid reflux is a feeling that something you just swallowed is trapped behind your breastbone. It is a very uncomfortable feeling. Often it can cause a sens of panic or just a very uncomfortable feeling. This is caused by a malfunctioning esophagus. Head to the nearest emergency room if the feeling doesn't quickly go away. If you get the feeling periodically, schedule an appointment with your primary care physician to be checked out. Acid reflux symptoms are usually localized to the chest and abdominal areas. The problem is, many other conditions affect these areas as well. This is why so many people have their acid reflux disorder misdiagnosed as something else. In order to reduce the chances of this happening, it's a good idea to pay close attention to every symptom and describe it to your doctor in detail. The fact is, after you know you have acid reflux, it's not that hard to keep it under control!
