It was recently reported that a vaccine for H1N1 (swine flu) may be available as early as October or November However, the bad news is that flu season usually begins in early September when school resumes. This means that your school age children may be exposed to the H1N1 before a vaccine is available. So what are the risks and what can you do now to protect your school age children?

School age children that have certain diseases, are faced with an increased risk for complications or even death if they get the H1N1 virus These high risk diseases include; frequent chest colds, asthma, Copd, emphysema, and other respiratory conditions.
