In this article, Alexis Goode, author of "The Ultimate Cure For Sweating Hands", will talk about how she overcame her own problem with sweaty palms.
Unless you have suffered from sweaty palms, you do not know how damaging this problem can be to your life. Think about how often you shake someones hand. Meeting new people, interviews, sealing a deal, etc., etc., etc. In everyday life we are expected to shake hands often. Now think about holding hands especially in a new relationship, then there is touching something that you are handing to another person, when you give it to them it is wet, but not wet with water, wet with the sweat from your hands.
Sweating palms affect the lives of the sufferer more than non-suffers can ever imagine.
How do I know? It is because I suffered from excessively sweaty palms for the whole second decade of my life. It was torture. I could not get a job, meet a man or even complete college. I dropped out because of the stress of my sweating hands.
After a year or two of self pity, I decided to take action and to banish my sweaty palms forever. My first step was to try different hand gels, like hydrosal, and hand antiperspirants. This had absolutely no effect on my sweaty palms what so ever.
The next step was to visit a dermatologist to see what they could offer me. Well the dermatologist offered the gels and antiperspirants, surgery, botox and iontophoresis.
All of these methods were WAY above what I could afford to pay. I was out of work and had no insurance at the time. Some of them also had side effects that are, in my opinion, worse than the initial problem.
You can not even imagine the frustration that I felt at this stage. This is when I got angry and resolved to figure out a way to cure my sweaty palms on my own. And I did!
