If you haven't given any natural eczema treatments a shot, you should consider doing so. Remember - natural treatments work best when combined together in a solid step-by-step treatment plan.

Petroleum Jelly: To keep the skin in a well moisturized condition, petroleum jelly is the best option available with you. Most of the body lotions that are available in the market contain fragrance and other irritants which are not suitable for your child. Apply the jelly soon after the bath when the skin is still not completely dry. You should apply it thrice a day for best results.

To avoid and cure eczema on hands, do not keep your hands in water for long as it may dry them out. Always use lukewarm water for taking bath, washing and cleaning as too hot or too cold water can dry the skin on hands. While washing clothes, take off your rings as they may trap detergents and cause an allergic reaction. As far as possible, keep stress at bay by undertaking exercises, yoga or meditation regularly.

Coconut Oil works well on the scalp or the body to nourish your skin and help reduce the irritation of eczema. Coconut oil has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties and has many additional health benefits that you can absorb through your skin. The virgin, unrefined coconut oil smells delicious and contains the highest levels of healing properties.

Avoid using scented lotions and perfume on your skin. When you have eczema, you skin is very sensitive and the chemical constituents of the scented lotions and perfumes may irritate your skin. For an alternative, you can go for lotions such as cetaphil which will be very soothing for your skin.

Oatmeal treatment is another natural remedy for eczema. It has been used an eczema remedy since the time of the Ancient Egyptians. It is a nourishing and fiber-rich food that keeps you healthy on the inside. Oatmeal can also be applied topically as it hydrates the skin and prevent it from drying out. The proteins in oatmeal create a barrier against allergens and foreign irritants.

Along with the topical treatments, certain dietary supplements can also be helpful in the treatment of eczema. The most recommended supplement for treating eczema are omega 3 oils. Including these essential fatty acids in your diet reduces inflammation and improves the condition to a great extent. By using flaxseed oil, that is available at various grocery stores, you can add these essential fatty acids to your diet.
