Herbal remedies for asthma are helpful to cure it efficiently. They are effective and it is a good old remedy. The herbs used in the herbal remedies for asthma are natural herbs, and the herbs are safe.

Herbs such as astragalus, ashwaganda root, borage leaf and seed oil, licorice, and eleuthero support both the lungs and adrenals. Nervous-system regulators such as oatstraw and skullcap will also help. If your asthma is caused by allergies, consider taking supplements such as NAC, quercetin, SOD, and homeopathic detoxification formulas to support the liver in its effort to detoxify. It is also important to work the lungs to improve their capacity.

Ephedra sinica has been one of these herbal remedies for asthma that have come to the forefront of our modern times for its inherent value to treat the disease effectively. The herb, called ma huang, has since had a chemical extracted from its components called ephedrine that has been used to create a pharmaceutical component for the treatment. Experts believe that there are other possible elements to ma huang that can create assistance in breathing for asthma sufferers.

Other notable herbs used to combat asthma such as Ephedra and Hyssop are purported to relieve respiratory congestion. The mullein oil and green tea on the other hand helps dilate bronchial passageways to regulate oxygen circulation. Meanwhile, Nettle and Lobelia exhibit anti-inflammatory properties that are essential in the upkeep of routine respiratory health.

Mix a teaspoon of fresh ginger juice with a cup of fenugreek decoction and honey to taste and take this remedy once in the morning and once in the evening. It acts as an excellent expectorant in cases of asthma. The decoction of fenugreek can be made by mixing one tablespoon of fenugreek seeds in a cupful of water.

In a saucepan mix together 2 glasses of water, 1 stick of Cinnamon, 2 tablespoons of Thyme, 1 lime (halved), 3 Heads of Garlic and 1/2 purple onion. Bring this mixture to the boil and add 1 more cup of cold water. Let it boil until it reduces to half. Strain the liquid and drink as a tea or if you have children with asthma, they can take 1 tablespoon every 3 hours mixed with honey.

Yerba Mate is a very helpful herbal remedy for asthma. It helps stimulate the adrenal glands to release corticosteroids, which reduce inflammation, as well as hyperactive immune responses to irritants. It also helps relax the airways, and dilate the bronchial passages.
