Home Remedies for Ear Infections - Easy Home Based Cure

Ear infections can be painful and irritating. If left untreated, they can lead to permanent deafness. While there are several home remedies for ear infections, it is best to consult with a doctor if the infection does not go away within two to three days.

Put some mineral oil (oil derived from a mineral source, such as petroleum, because it is inexpensive and rarely causes allergic reactions) in your ear before going in the water. Wear earplugs while swimming and avoid swimming in dirty waters.

Mix a few drops of Tea Tree Oil in an equal amount of vegetable oil and put two to three drops in the infected ear.

Purchase some garlic oil liquid capsules from your local pharmacy. Warm a cup of water and put the capsule for a minute or two to gently warm it up. Prick a hole into the capsule. Squeeze four to five drops into the affected ear. Lie down on your side or keep your head tilted for at least 5 minutes.

Mango is also used in earache. Grind mango leaves and boil it. Put 2-3 drops of lukewarm mango leaves extract in the infected ear. This is natural and effective remedy for reducing ear pain and infection.

An effective aromatherapy ear rub can be made with the essential oils of lavender, tea tree oil and chamomile mixed in olive oil. This mixture can be rubbed on the outside of the ear or soaked in cotton and put inside the ear and left till the infection is gone.
Natural Mullein Flower Oil Ear Drop - Warm oil gently and place 1-2 drops into the ear twice a day. Eardrops should not be used if the ear pain is severe or if it is accompanied by a discharge from the ear. Please consult your doctor as the eardrum may be perforated.

Echinaccea can be helpful in fighting ear infections for children over the age of one year. Adding one dropper full of Euchinaccea three times a day to a glass of fluid can all help prevent ear infections

Mix lobelia and garlic oil or olive oil, place a few drops in the ear and plug it with cotton this will help with pain.
