How Parents Can Help Their Teens with Eating Disorders?

When parents try to help their child to avoid succumbing to teen eating disorders, the first thing that they should know is that they are the main person that their child will try to emulate. Monkey see, monkey do, right?

If the parents are constantly dieting and focusing solely on their weight, then the child may develop similar behaviors as well. If the child feels that they are not living up to the standards set by the parents, then they may resort to eating, binging, or purging in order to cope with their health anxiety.

Parents must understand that they do have control, and they must take it.
