When the stool elimination is hard and painful, or difficult to pass or one has bowel movements less than thrice a week, he is said to be senna constipation. Constipation affects the rectum, anus, colon and the digestive organs. When the stools get stained with blood, it is a grave situation that calls for immediate medical assistance.

It is always preferable to prevent the incurrence of constipation than treating it. Even if you have been constipated, it is never too late to take preventive measures to stop its occurrence in the future.

The most successful way of preventing senna constipation in the future is to include lots of fiber in the regular diet. Apples, pineapple, cauliflower, carrots, lentils, etc. are rich in fiber that displays a spongy behavior absorbing water and making the stool softer and easier to eliminate.

Refrain from processed food, frozen foods, snacks like chips, in future to reduce the emergence of another constipation episode in your life.

People sometimes resort to fiber supplements that can reduce the chances for senna constipation in the future.

Include lots of fluid in your daily diet from water to juices, soups, etc. to prevent dehydration and the hardening of the stools.

Regular exercise goes a long way in strengthening the muscles that can stimulate the bowel movement.

Never let the hectic daily schedule keep you away from relieving your body of the bowels. Always visit the restroom when you feel the urge.

The doctors may prescribe laxatives for a temporary relief. But, care should be taken to prevent over-dependence on the same as it can impair the body's natural bowel expulsion function.

Adopt these simple procedures and enjoy a constipation-free life.
