Severe panic attacks are probably the only thing that consumes your thoughts these days. Severe panic attacks, what exactly are they?

Just to explain what happens in an event of an attack, 1 minute you might be a confident self assured person standing around talking, then without any notice you could feel a sudden surge of fear, fear that has so much impact on you at the time you fear for your life.

Your imagination starts to create scenarios of things that may happen to you, then you start to panic and an attack arrives because of the fear created by your own imagination.

This is where the first mistake happens, most people try to fight against an attack, they try to shut it down once their coping techniques fail.

Slow breathing and telling your self to calm down really does not work, sorry to break that bit of news to you. The next mistake is when you open up the gate and let your new enemy become your friend,"your wild imagination".

* This type of thinking is what fuels anxiety and panic, it actually escalates the fear and this is why you feel vulnerable and out of control.


The secret to beating severe panic attacks is this, you need to regain control by responding in an entirely different manner. You NEED to work with your bodily sensations and not against them. This is the ONLY way you will regain control
