A lightweight folding wheelchair weighs as little as 30 lbs, and it can fold down to the size of a golf bag. If you go for a vacation or a trip, or just go shopping or visit the doctor, it is an ideal solution for occasional wheelchair users. It folds easily and can be stored in very little space. All lightweight folding wheelchairs are ergonomically designed for comfort and crash tested for safety and durability. They are technically advanced and performance-oriented.

Modern technology has helped to make mans existence on Earth a lot more convenient and comfortable letting him do things that help in manipulating the environment in a way that allows everyone to achieve their goals despite facing health and lifestyle related problems. Among the many technological achievements to cheer about one that is known as the motorized wheelchair lift is sure to provide a lot of cheer to every disabled person.

No doubt, owning a motorized wheelchair lift can prove to be a costly business; but, it does help do away with needing to use muscle power in order to move about on a wheelchair and in the end the price that you end up paying will prove to be good value for money.

The lightweight folding wheelchair cannot be designed to fit the user as in the rigid frame wheelchairs. It has to fold into a compact shape; hence its ability to fit or adjust is greatly reduced. Therefore it does not offer high comfort benefits, but its main ability to quickly fold and store in the trunk of a car makes it popular among older users who are not traveling too often. The folding wheelchair ramp with it can easily be taken on trips and vacations and used in places, where there are no special arrangements for wheelchair users.

The better motorized wheelchair lifts are even able to do as much as ninety percent of all the work required to get your wheelchair into a van or move up floors in a home. Prior to the advent of the motorized wheelchair lift, use was made of carting dogs that helped disabled folks to walk to a market or visit a church.

Thanks to the motorized wheelchair lift, disabled people are now able to enjoy greater independence as far as their mobility is concerned. The excellent Extreme 4 by 4 can also be folded and this is a feature that is not normally available with most motorized wheelchair lifts.

Another feature relevant to choosing the proper motorized power wheelchair is that it is normally a lot heavier than a manually operated wheelchair and therefore is difficult to lift onto curbs as well as on steps. It is therefore necessary that you only use a motorized power wheelchair where there are wide halls and doors so that such a form of wheelchair can easily be accommodated.

Yet another factor that will need to be considered before opting to use a motorized power wheelchair is whether or not you are going to do a lot of travelling. Since these types of wheelchairs are not foldable, it makes transporting them quite difficult. You should also take into account the need to charge the batteries and have a suitable charger on hand at all times.
