Top Ten Prevention Techniques
I posted an article earlier that was meant to increase the awareness for ways to prevent illnesses, diseases, viruses and other conditions. I promised to post the top ten list I received from a leading prevention company, OUTFOX Prevention. The following is the list which was compiled by OUTFOX Prevention to help us prepare:
- Wash your hands often
- Avoid areas where germs are known to hide out.
- Do not put hands in or around mouth, nose or eyes.
- Teach your children how to maintain a clean environment.
- Work with your employer or school to originate a set of higher hygiene standards (which will teach those around you ways to prevent the spreading of illnesses).
- Maintain a vaccination schedule (and make sure your family, friends, and employees have them done regularly).
- Stay home when you're ill!
- Brush your teeth and conduct other normal oral hygiene.
- Eat a balanced diet.
- Get plenty of rest.
I have been impressed by the ease and sophistication of the OUTFOX Prevention training model. I have heard of significant changes in classrooms or teacher-friends that have used the infection control and hand hygiene training kits. With the high price of healthcare, I can see an increased need for us to be prevention oriented.
I also suggest getting a health risk management plan together for your family, business, classroom, etc. Every organization needs a risk management plan and someone that takes charge of the plan. Whether it be you or someone else that is in a better capacity to continually check up on the status of health risks around you, a manager should be firmly designated. OUTFOX gives you a template (and self-inspection form) that will help you maintain the highest level of safety in your immediate circumstances.
