Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is a very serious condition that affects 100's of thousands of people in each country and ironically many of the sufferers are unaware of the condition let alone the symptoms of the carpal tunnel syndrome which is also known as CTS. The most common symptoms of CTS are felt in the hands and fingers like tingling in the fingers, and palms of the hand, sharp pains numbness, twinges, fatigue and so on.

The most common cause of the Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is when the carpal tunnel that acts as the conduit for the median nerve compresses the nerves that go through it at the base of our hands. Couple of things that can cause this to haven are bad posture and swelling in our hands. If the condition is not diagnosed and treated properly, the symptoms that I mentioned above worsen and if ignored for too long can cause permanent damage and the person suffering from CTS can find difficulty holding and picking up things or worse still unable to move their fingers.

But if the Bilateral Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is diagnosed and treated in time it can be completely treated and the person can avoid the need for surgery and invasive treatments not to mention the painful recovery process. You can even buy wrist bands fairly cheaply from a chemist and other outlets that help to keep your wrist in a proper position

when you are working on your computer. Taking frequent breaks from the desk and work can help in reducing the risk of CTS, it's always a good idea to do gentle exercises when you take a break which will help reduce pressure on the wrist. The wrist bands are ideal and they come in different sizes and designs, with the technology these days they all have different methods creams that you can find that suits you best.

If the condition is left to get worse and you are in an unfortunate situation that surgery is the only option left then don't despair the surgery is not that complicated and a good surgeon will carry out the surgery by making a small incision in the inner palm and wrist area. The surgery will be necessary to release the pressure in the carpal tunnel, once the pressure on the median nerve is released the recovery will start and you will need to treat the hand and the wrist very gently for a bit until the wound has healed.  But you want to be careful and do gentle exercises because you don't want to restrict movement completely further damaging the tissue in the hand, gentle making a fist and moving your fingers will keep the blood circulation going. Another thing that will help keep the swelling down is keeping the hands above the heart level after the surgery.

Just like any surgery there are risks involved, if the pain persists then you need contact your doctor straight away and to be aware of and make sure that you keep good care not to get any infections. Then there is also the possibility that there will be scaring of the wound. But with modern surgical methods treating you bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms incision should hardly leave behind any scar.

Before you can start to treat your bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms you must first get correct diagnoses to confirm that you have the syndrome and then find out all there is about the condition. The best place to start is a visit to the doctor and also start gathering more detailed information from a good source. Waiting will only lead to the condition getting worse and lead to unnecessary pain.
