Types of Headache

We all know that we have a headache from time to time however what most people do now know is exactly what type of headache they are getting. You might be surprised to find out that there are over one hundred and fifty different types of headaches.

Obviously most people will suffer from some of the most common sorts of headache and I have listed these for you so that you can perhaps diagnose yourself next time that you feel pain in your head.

Migraine

One of the most common types is most certainly the migraine. Doctors and researchers have still not been able to find what exactly causes it. What they have discovered however that it has something to do with the contractions of blood vessels. Something else what has been discovered is that many people who suffer from migraines will also have some brain abnormalities.

Some of the symptoms which are associated with migraines is stomach pain, sensitivity to sun light and vomiting.

Sinus

Many people describe a sinus headache as one of the worst types as it often causes a severe and continuous pain in various parts of the head. These include the nose, forehead and even the cheekbones.

Some of the symptoms that are associated with it include a runny nose, swelling of the face and fevers.

Tension

The most common type of headache out there is the tension one. The problem with it is not the pain as that is normally only mild however many people do get it for a lengthy time.

Hormonal

Woman often suffer from hormonal headaches which are caused by the ever varying levels of hormones. This is often especially the case when a woman hits the menopause, is pregnant or has her monthly menstruation.
