What is SWINE FLU/ SWINE INFLUENZA?

Swine influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease normally found in pigs but human cases can and do happen. caused by type A

influenza virus and gives pigs the flu. Swine flu viruses cause regular outbreaks of flu in pigs but death is infrequent. In 1930 The

classical swine flu virus (an influenza type A H1N1 virus) was first isolated from a pig.
How many swine flu viruses are there?
Like all flu viruses, swine flu viruses change constantly. Over the years, different variations of swine flu viruses have emerged.

Right now, there are four main influenza type A virus subtypes that have been isolated in pigs: H1N1, H1N2, H3N2, and H3N1.

However, most of the recently isolated influenza viruses from pigs have been H1N1 viruses.
Can humans suffer from swine flu?
Yes, as of April 25, 2009, over 30 people have been diagnosed with the ailment. Swine flu viruses do not normally infect humans.

However, sporadic human infections with swine flu have occurred & now there is pandemic.
Of course there have been several breakouts throughout the 20th century. First of all there is the breakout that is happening now

(As described above), also in1976 there was a little breakout. However the biggest one was in 1918 when 20 million people died.
How swine flu kill?
Swine flu — just like any other flu — is a respiratory infection. Virus enters body through mouth or nose — The virus enters

airway & lung — attacks cells that line respiratory tract, it replicates in cell until the cell dies & releases bulk of viruses into body.
It exploits a weakened immune system to attack major organs — especially your lungs. When it gets into your lungs, it can lead to

pneumonia, which can kill you. The flu can also cause secondary infections in your body — any of which can lead to failure of

vital organs and death.
Can human catch swine flu from eating pork?
No. Swine flu viruses are not transmitted by food. You cant get swine flu from eating pork or pork products. You won’t get swine

flu from handling uncooked pork either. You can get sick from putting uncooked or undercooked pork in your mouth, but you

won’t get swine flu. World Health Organization once again said tOn May 7, 2009, that it is generally safe to eat pork. If you eat

meat from an animal that was sick or had died before it was slaughtered you are taking major risks, the least of which is swine

flu.
What are the symptoms of swine flu in humans?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human seasonal influenza
· Fever, usually high grade, unlike seasonal flu.
· Lethargy
· Runny nose or stuffy nose
· Sore throat
· Coughing
· Body aches
· Headache
· Chills
· Fatigue or tiredness, which can be extreme
· Diarrhoea & vomiting, sometimes but more commonly seen than with seasonal flu
· Lack of appetite.
How swine flu spread?
Direct transmission from pigs to people and from people to pigs. Human infection with swine flu viruses are most likely to occur

when people are in close proximity to infected pigs. Human-to-human transmission of swine flu can also occur. This is thought to

occur in the same way as seasonal flu occurs in people, which is mainly person-to-person transmission through coughing or

sneezing of people infected with the flu virus. People may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then

touching their mouth or nose.
How are human infections with swine flu diagnosed?
To diagnose swine influenza A infection, a respiratory specimen is ideally collected within the first four to five days of illness &

sent to CDC for testing.

Perhaps the most recent use of homeopathy in a major epidemic was during the Influenza Pandemic of 1918. The Journal of the

American Institute for Homeopathy, May, 1921, had a long article about the use of homeopathy in the flu epidemic. Dr. T A

McCann, from Dayton, Ohio, reported that 24,000 cases of flu treated allopathically had a mortality rate of 28.2% while 26,000

cases of flu treated homeopathically had a mortality rate of 1.05%. This last figure was supported by Dean W.A. Pearson of

Philadelphia (Hahnemann College) who collected 26,795 cases of flu treated with homeopathy with the above result.
The most common remedy used was Gelsemium, with occasional cases needing Bryonia and Eupatorium reported. Dr. Herbert A.

Roberts from Derby, CT, said that 30 physicians in Connecticut responded to his request for data. They reported 6,602 cases with
