Why Me? Finding Natural Rosacea Solutions

Do you suffer from Rosacea and want to try Natural Solutions to end the pain?  This condition runs in my family and I wanted to find an alternative to using traditional creams which did not seem to help.

What is This Rosacea Condition All About?

Rosacea is a chronic skin condition primarily on the face but can also appear on the ears, back, chest and eyes.  The symptoms can include:

  • Flushing on the face which may involve some swelling.
  • Bumps and pimples (Acne Rosacea)
  • Inflamed red patches
  • Small blood vessels on your cheeks and nose
  • Inflammation of the eyes (Ocular Rosacea)

What are the Causes of Rosacea?

While Doctors do not agree on the underlying causes of Rosacea, it has been reported that this disease has both genetic and environmental factors which contribute to bringing on the symptoms.

Rosacea affects millions of people worldwide; however it appears to be more prevalent in the following groups:

  • Adults of northern and western European descent
  • Women are more likely to suffer than men
  • Fair Skinned people
  • Adults between 30-60

How do I Treat Rosacea?

First, if you think you have this disease you should consult your family doctor to get a full diagnosis.  There are also things you can do to lessen the flare-up and the severity.

Educate Yourself.  Once you have a specific diagnosis, search for any current information on your condition.  New treatments such as laser therapy can be helpful for many.  Many prefer to try the holistic approach and target the root cause.  The good news is that there is help available so do not assume you have to live with this condition without options.

Skin Care is Essential.  Take care of your skin by washing with a mild alcohol-free soap and avoid hot temperatures.  Be sure to wear sunscreen and stay out of the sun as much as possible as the sun can trigger a flare-up.  Keep yourself cool by staying in air-conditioning and applying cool water to your face.

What About Diet?   Like so many health conditions, what you eat can affect the flare-ups of your disease.  There are a number of foods that may affect your Rosacea including:  dairy, chocolate, tomatoes, vinegar, spicy foods, hot drinks and hot foods.

Limiting or avoiding these food groups should give you relief.  To be more precise you can keep a food diary to see if relief comes when certain foods are temporarily removed.

What Else Should I Avoid?

Other things that can trigger flare-ups include:  hot baths, exposure to extreme temperatures, physical activity, menopause, stress and embarrassment.

Can you eliminate all these?  Probably not, but just being aware that they can affect your condition will help you avoid circumstances that could bring on these symptoms.

Conclusion

Remember that there are different types of Rosacea and not everyone experiences the same symptoms or severity.  Awareness of your disease is the first step to preventing symptoms from spreading.  Be sure to get a proper diagnosis from your doctor.  Doing nothing may worsen your condition if left untreated.

As with any condition, becoming an expert on your disease will give you the best options to Find Rosacea Treatment Solutions.
